Managing stress by sensing the outcome

Since I felt I became burned out some years ago, I've taken heed in learning to recognize my stressors, and when I tend to live in overdrive. This usually is about recognizing when I feel tired and go to sleep on time, but also ensure that I get time to de-compress and wind down before I do. To go from my kitchen table, to my couch, before I go to bed.

I've also started to practice sensing my intended energy to see what it would feel like, to do a certain thing, before I decide to do. Today, for example, while I was walking home after doing some errands, I was trying to decide if I should go upstairs to have lunch directly, before going to the laundry room and sign up, or go there first. Immediately, I felt stress at the mere thought of going back down, given the time slots could be taken. I proceeded to our laundry room and indeed most of the time slots for my preferred time was taken. But, now I still got one, and didn't have to become stressed out about it. I think this ability to send out my intention just a little bit to sense its outcome, is a good practice. This can also be applied to confirm our set out plans. Have you ever tried to?
