Today I was presented with an acquaintance's point of view on life - the one of seeing life like a series of obstacles. It might sound pessimistic, but perhaps in a good way. If we focus on a goal and obstacles come in our way, we might get disconcerted, discouraged and even give up. This instead provides us with a better view.
If we assume that there will be a series of obstacles regardless which goals we have, we can make our efforts be to overcome them. Similar to how I've described it here with horseback riding, we can focus on what is beyond or after the obstacle. Then it will simply be something we do on the way towards our goal.
