Went to Sparadiset here in Stockholm, Sweden yesterday, to receive a Hawaiian Lomilomi treatment. It was wonderful and so, so needed. They have decorated their entire interior with old fashioned Rattan-furniture, lots of fabric and soft lightning to match, which made it feel more welcome and a little nostalgic to me. And, with both the heat cranked up high and warm towels, while still with AC, made it easier to relax. After wrapping my feet with some ointment, my body was pushed and kneaded to the core. I like to breathe consciously alongside with the massage, to breathe through any tension and pain that the therapist tries to release. So also, yesterday. I had some.
After, my shoulders have dropped down to their actual level, I feel more relaxed and grounded, and even my legs feel better. However, that special Hawaiian feeling on a spiritual level, is missing. Not surprisingly though, given that we are in a winter-cold climate far away from, which makes me think that the healing might just be attached to the climate. That ocean air and saltwater and sunshine, makes it more effective and wholesome. Or that I'm more free to relax, believe, and connect spiritually, when I'm abroad. Or that this time, my need was mostly physical, due to the stress I've had to endure here in Sweden for many years. Regardless, it's nice to know, that I can find a slice of paradise, here too.
