The snow lies thick over the ground, like a comforter for Mother Earth. Her bare vegetation halted and trees stand silent, empty of leaves. Small puddles have turned into glazed ice and the only thing I hear is my own footsteps. A few birds accompany me on my daily walk.
Temperatures are below freezing point and the sun barely makes it over the horizon this time of year in Sweden. It becomes sacred to greet it.
I think of the seasons and how we must change accordingly, but often don't. We keep running and driving towards our goals so much, it all becomes dark. Should we not work in tune with daylight? Let our business hours reflect this. Should our society not feel better if we did? Health should always be our priority, and each individual's own honoring, respected.
