Why I'd like to have my own business

I've watched and listened to Tony Robbins speaking on his "Time to Rise Summit" last week, and took down some notes to work with, to finetune my desires and goals, and how to achieve them. One of the things he asked, was why someone wants to have his or her own business. Why do I?

My primary reason is, because I like to be in charge. I like to call the shots, to make decisions, to organize, to plan, and to lead. That is, if others put their trust and faith in me. I ensure that things get done, and I enjoy taking the initiative, especially when I'm believed in.

Second, is the flexibility of time, and be able to do what I like the most, which is to create, write and coach. Dancing, is my reward and my happy energy. I can have a hard time with idle time, and chit-chatting around the office for no other reason than waiting for something to do, while being forced to be there between 8 am and 5 pm every day. That can be so frustrating. And it's also how so much drama can evolve, for no reason, since our primary focus should be on performing our tasks and duties, and not on who has said what, when and to whom. I don't mind a healthy discussion, when the definition and solving a problem gets to take center stage, but not the political hupla about who should be "entitled" to do a certain task, or work with a certain customer or account. I'm simply more goal-oriented than relationship-oriented.

Third, the income, usually becomes higher in comparison to the amount of hours put in for a job, such as getting paid for the actual assignment and then being off the rest of the time. However, this is also my weak spot, since I do appreciate a stable income every month and I do need this kind of security. And, to always be chasing and looking for my next client or assignment, can be very stressful. But, like another old coaching question goes: What would you do if you had all the money you need? Then, Telluselle Living Center would already have been built, thriving, and perhaps even duplicated into a franchise.
